Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) – 2016 Asia Conference
As Harvard’s largest annual student event in Asia, the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) – 2016 Asia Conference was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 19 – 23 August. With the theme of “EMPOWER”, the conference attracted more than 500 delegates over the globe to take part in different tracks. Over 90 renowned speakers including scholars, business professionals and political leaders were also invited to deliver seminars, talks and keynote speeches.
Hong Kong Policy Research Institute (HKPRI) was invited as one of the partner organisations of the conference. To echo the theme of Belt and Road Initiative, we prepared a case study on the Myitsone Dam Project in Myanmar for the Impact Challenge competition. With the coincident visit of Aung San Suu Kyi to China, delegates expressed keen interest and presented innovative proposals during the competition.
